Successful acting coach Karen Storms of the Actors Annex in the Exposure Studio has been coaching actors of all ages for more than 25 years and she is a favorite among actors and their parents. Karen teaches that it’s not about “acting”, but rather through in-depth script study the actors understand the character then portray that character from the actor’s personal life experiences and relationships. This method creates a character that is natural, real and alive. In other words, the actor becomes the character. Karen creates within her actors the true feeling that they “believe in themselves”. The results are callbacks and bookings. Actors Karen has coached have appeared in television productions such as: DIRTY, SEXY, MONEY, DEXTER, SCRUBS, SUITE LIFE OF ZACK & CODY, and many more.

In this safe and challenging work environment, the beginning and professional actor will strengthen the skills necessary to play a believable character. Through scene study and improvisation this class lays the essential foundation for every actor to best understand the role they are given to play. When the foundation is strong the character portrayal will also be. Karen in uniquely gifted in her ability to help every actor learn and  grow in their craft. Her proactive approach is extremely powerful in helping the actor be always present in the scene and live the role. Personal attention is given to each actor in every class. All actors work and are taped every class.

Adult Audition Techniques Class

Once the actor understands how to play a believable character, now they must learn how to effectively audition as one. This is the actor’s job: to audition well. In this class the actor learns how to embrace the audition process, make quick choices and adjustments, strengthen their auditioning skills in order to stand out above the rest. Current audition material is used from film, TV, & commercial auditions plus improvisational auditioning situations, cold reading & interview techniques. Because the material is constantly updated this class may be repeated to stay strong in your skills.
